On April 17th, the Lynden School Board passed Resolution #06-25. In the resolution the board states their intention to make a formal complaint to the Office for Civil Rights and the Attorney General of the United States as well as take legal action against the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Why are they doing this?
Because the Lynden School District wants the right to discriminate against trans students. They want Washington State to acquiesce to the Trump administration's edict that only "biological females" can participate in girls' sports. If this resolution is successful it will impact all trans students in Washington, not just those in Lynden.
We want to make it clear to the Lynden School Board that we stand in opposition to this resolution, that we are watching, and we will stand up for trans kids. We also want to send a message to the trans youth living in Lynden that they are not alone, that we have their backs!
